- Three Brooks Wins Planting Places Award
March 2008
The Three Brooks LNR has won a “Planting Places” award from Sustainability South West. The reserve was one of ten examples of urban greenspaces in the region. The awards aim to showcase greenspaces that are making a host of contributions to the sustainability - from supporting biodiversity and local food/energy production to improving community well-being and inclusion.
John Morris and Dave Baker collected the award (a nice carved plaque) at a ceremony held at the Winter Gardens, Weston-Super-Mare on 6th March. The award is a testament to everyone who works so hard on the reserve and on its behalf, including John at South Gloucestershire Council, Paul and Jenny from BTCV and especially all you lovely volunteers.

- Three Brooks NCG Wins Breathing Spaces Award
July 2007
We are very pleased that the group has been awarded a Breathing Places grant of £9,820 from the Big Lottery Fund! Special thanks go to John Morris who did nearly all the work in putting the application together. The money is to be used for:
Path improvements in Savage's Wood
Nature/orienteering trails
Wildflower planting
Wildlife monitoring events
Guided walks
Printed educational material
Promotional material
Tools.
The work will be done over the next 12 months. The group will be doing some of this work, such as the wildflower planting, on their workdays. Other groups in the reserve will also contribute and the guided walks will be open to the community.
